Potterycrafts Birch White Smooth Stoneware Clay
Birch white smooth is one of our best-selling clay bodies. It is a smooth clay firing to an off-white colour, suitable for throwing, hand building and modelling fine detail. Excellent for glazed work due to its light tone. This clay body comes a little softer than most making it perfect for beginners or potters suffering with joint issues. To firm up the clay allow to dry on a plaster batt and work to your preferred hardness.
- Temperature Range 1150 - 1280°C.
- Shrinkage (w-d) 3 - 5%
- Shrinkage (d-f) 6 - 8%
- 0.3% expansion at 500°C.
- Texture (1-smooth 10 coarse) 2.
- Fired colour: Off White.
